Costa Almeria
Covering the southeastern corner of Spain (Eastern part Andalucia) is the rugged Costa de Almeria. This coastline is relatively untouched leaving a laid-back, authentic Spanish seaside. Almeria province has long been appreciated by Spaniards from Madrid and the North, is increasing in popularity. With the colossal 10th century Alcazaba fortress dominating. Almeria's old town has the largest fortress built by the Moors in Spain.
This is mainland Europe's warmest and sunniest region, with over 3000 hours of sunshine a year!
The province is steeped in history which can be dated back to Phoenician times and before; a past reflected in its picturesque towns and villages. The whole area, with its unspoiled coastline, national parks, mountains and valleys provides an overwhelming sense of space, and offers an exiting new world to be explored.
Inland Almeria appears to be a lunar landscape of desert and dried up river beds, a popular choice for filming western style epics.
If you wish to escape the beach, explore Cabo de Gata Nijar, a national park with spectacular caves or marvel at the El Tajo gorge.
Roquetas de Mar
Is the biggest and the most populous town of the area and although it is bustling with open-air cafes, traditional Spanish bars and lively music you will still manage to find a spot to lay your beach blanket.
Almerimar
This resort is set around one of the largest marinas in the Med making it an ideal place to laze the sun while watching the world go by. Further up the coast you will stumble upon the picturesque, hilltop village of Mojacar.
Mojacar
Mojacar ancient in origin and Arabic in appearance, mojacar spills down the side of a hill in the foothills of the sierra cabrera.
Garrucha
Garrucha is a picturesque seaport which is located between the beaches of historic Mojacar and the next town of Vera. The origin of the town dates back to the 16th century, founded by a group of fishermen, who protected themselves from pirate attack by constructing a tower.
La Envia
La Envía is situated in a wide valley with new villa developments, west of the road from the N340 towards Felix between El Parador and Enix in the Almeria region, Spain. The short 18 hole golf course of la Envia, designed by Francisco Mendoza, will attract people who prefer a nice, relaxed and enjoyable game of golf rather than the challenge of defeating a punishing championship golf course. Nevertheless there are a few difficult, undulated, holes at La Envia Golf which require all your skills.
Vera
Vera is a very properous and has many stores, is rich in handicraft and the amount of tourists is constantly increasing because of its well-known cuisine.
